With every Livingwear purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go to our "Be-A-Differentiator" (B.A.D) initiative.

The B.A.D. initiative is Livingwear’s commitment to explore and support multiple Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) around the world, giving back to causes we believe in, that tie home closely to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) such as Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water & Sanitation, and Affordable & Clean Energy, to name a few.

Why?

At Livingwear, we believe in celebrating the great exploration we all partake in – this thing we call life. Driven by our curiosity to learn, we’re committed to the pursuit of designing for a better world. We also know that the only way to make this vision become a reality is if our actions as a company speak louder than our words; louder than the clothes, and the images we produce.

And so, our Founders asked: what could we do right now as a small brand to start us on that journey to create the future we seek? How do we make a difference? What’s holding us back?

Yeah, we could wax lyrical about the realities of being a start-up, bootstrapping our way through each month… But excuses, excuses; we decided it was imperative to actually do something, start somewhere, no matter how small the action, if we wanted to build a World of Difference.

It’s Good to be B.A.D.

In this early phase of the initiative, our goal is to tap onto different areas of social impact under the umbrella of the UN’s 17 SDGs, by channeling proceeds of sales to a different NGO every 6 months.

Our aim is to be able to produce an annual impact report that we get to share with our community, so that you can be kept up to date on how good it is to be B.A.D. with us.

Our First Partner: ShareTheMeal

 

Who are they?

ShareTheMeal is the world’s first app against global hunger – an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP); the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. Each year, the WFP reaches more than 86 million people with food assistance in around 83 countries. WFP is 100% voluntarily funded, so every donation counts.

 

Why ShareTheMeal?

We selected ShareTheMeal as our first NGO because fighting world hunger is something our team and founders feel strongly about.
How do we even begin to talk about “Living” if our basic sustenance for survival is at risk? We love what WFP and ShareTheMeal are doing for those of us hungry in the world, and we want to pledge our help.

This pledge moves us a tiny step closer to Goal #2 of the UN’s 17 SDGs: ZERO HUNGER.

What does that mean? The aim of this goal is to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
